Under the Green Banners
From Chapter 8
I've come to realize that it's okay to remember. It's okay to let them know that we still think of them and that if there were a universal consensus, some cosmic poll taken, the results would hardly be a mystery. The fact is they are loved and missed and the numbers coming from the exit polls seem to be growing.
Even though time has taken them further away and has widened the road of our recall, there is still a memorial that's enclose in a glass case that players pass by each game. Most of the times they don't stop to reflect.
But once in a while, a player, a parent, or a sportswriter will hear the silent call that comes from the memorial.
And what does it say?
A different message for everyone.
On this night, the message is: When you live your life the right way, you never really leave at all. Your impact echoes on and on and one and on and on and one and on.
