While her parents faced the agonizing decision of whether to keep her on life support or pull the plug on her life, a family friend, who knew Collett’s favorite Jazz player was Bryon Russell, contacted the Jazz and within a few days Russell visited Collett at the hospital. He sat by her bed, held her hand and talked to her. While Collett’s hero sat at her bedside, she opened her eyes and began her recovery.
